Description
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s Write Over Here residency gives Indigenous screenwriters time, studio space and creative support to develop work exploring futurism for film and television. Writers may advance an original screenplay or work with a collaborator to adapt a novel, short story or play for the screen.
The hybrid program begins with online introductions, script reviews and individual feedback, followed by on-campus writing, faculty-led workshops, consultations and peer exchange. Workshops address story and character development, screenwriting techniques and creative practice. The residency runs alongside Literary Arts and Visual Arts programs exploring related themes, with opportunities to share work in progress through screenings, table reads and artist talks.
