Description
Fremont Area Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) grants support programs that improve the quality of life for youth in Newaygo County. Committee members evaluate applications and use needs assessment surveys distributed in local schools to develop funding priorities, connecting grantmaking to challenges and opportunities identified by young people.
The program focuses on three priorities. H.E.L.P. (Helping Everyone Live Positively) supports youth facing challenges involving vaping and other drugs, mental health, teen pregnancy, or poor home life. Social opportunities funding supports youth participation in social and recreational activities. C.E.O. (Continued Educational Opportunities) supports educational opportunities that help young people succeed in their future plans and develop leadership skills.
