    Description

The Yamagiwa-Yoshida Memorial International Cancer (YY) Study Grants are administered by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), with support from the Japan National Committee for UICC. The programme enables established cancer researchers, including clinicians, epidemiologists and public health professionals, to initiate or pursue bilateral research projects with collaborators abroad. Three-month visits provide opportunities to exchange complementary skills and materials and learn advanced experimental research methods.

The programme supports basic, translational, implementation, clinical, public health and applied cancer research, rather than clinical training or observerships. It seeks projects that address unmet cancer-control needs in the applicant’s country and enable skills and knowledge to be transferred to the home institution. The programme has supported the professional development of more than 330 Fellows from over 40 countries.
