Description
The Yates Community Endowment, administered by Rochester Area Community Foundation, supports nonprofit organizations working to benefit Yates County residents. Its general grantmaking addresses unmet needs through work that offers broad community benefit, is rooted in the local community, and builds on local strengths. Both project funding and general operating support are considered.
The endowment favors preventive work over remedial responses, although innovative remedial projects may be considered. It also prioritizes innovative approaches to food insecurity, transportation, and/or housing challenges, with one larger grant designated for this work. Successful applications avoid duplicating existing services, demonstrate sustainability when work will continue beyond the grant period, and show how success and community results can be measured.
