Description
Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, offers the Young Investigator Award to help promising physicians establish research careers in clinical oncology. The one-year award supports a project conducted with an experienced mentor during the transition from fellowship or other oncology training to a faculty appointment. U.S. and international applicants may propose research in any area of cancer.
Projects may have a clinical or preclinical focus, including epidemiologic, behavioral, cancer-care quality, outcomes, and health services research. Preclinical findings must ultimately translate to a clinical setting. Proposals need measurable outcomes and a feasible one-year timeline; clinical proposals must be developed with a patient advocate. Donor-supported interests include several cancer types, genomics, therapeutics, and Northern California-based researchers, but the general competition is not limited to those areas.
