Description
The Cancer Research Foundation’s Young Investigator Awards support scientists beginning independent cancer research during the first years of an initial faculty appointment. The grants are intended to help investigators test their own hypotheses and develop the preliminary data needed to compete for major research funding.
The foundation considers work across cancer research rather than prescribing a particular cancer type or approach. Its 2019–2020 award requirements highlighted research into cancer’s development, diagnosis and treatment, including projects that bring methods from adjacent fields such as chemistry, molecular engineering and data science into cancer research.
