    Description

Cannonball Kids' cancer Foundation (CKc) funds innovative, first-of-its-kind pediatric cancer research so children can thrive after a cancer diagnosis, not merely survive. Its Young Investigator Grant supports early-career researchers whose work is already associated with a clinical trial or is within two to three years of translation to one. Funded research must offer better quality of life or symptom relief than current treatments.

CKc defines innovation as novel methods or treatments that reduce side effects, improve children's quality of life, or create treatment options where few or none exist. This includes care at primary diagnosis, relapse, and for treatment-resistant cancers. The foundation prioritizes clinical trials and research nearing clinical translation. Whenever possible, it favors underfunded or under-researched cancers, traditionally underserved patient populations, and researchers from diverse backgrounds.
