Description
The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) established the Young Investigator Research Grant to support clinical studies addressing important issues for patients with kidney disease. Projects must be patient-oriented. The program supports early-career investigators pursuing research in nephrology or closely related fields, with the aim of improving detection, prevention, treatment, transplantation, and patients’ lives.
Patient-oriented research may include new technologies, mechanisms of human disease, educational or therapeutic interventions, epidemiology, health policy, and clinical trials. NKF selects meritorious projects through independent peer review. The current funding opportunities are the standard grant and the Gonzalez Memorial Research Fund.
