The Young Scientists opportunity supports participation in the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings rather than a specific research project. These international conferences bring together Nobel Laureates and promising young scientists from around the world to educate, inspire, and connect across cultural and political boundaries. Meetings alternate between Physics, Chemistry, and Physiology or Medicine, with Economic Sciences featured every third year.
The 76th meeting focuses on Physiology/Medicine and closely related disciplines, bringing approximately 600 young scientists together with Laureates for lectures, panel discussions, and small-group sessions. Undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, alongside early-career postdoctoral scientists, are considered through a multi-stage scientific selection process. Participants subsequently join the Lindau Alumni community, maintaining connections and supporting scientific dialogue beyond the meeting.
