Description
The American Chemical Society’s Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) Leadership Development Award supports attendance at the Young Chemist Leadership Development Workshop at the ACS Leadership Development Institute. Organized annually by YCC in conjunction with the ACS Annual Leaders’ Conference, the workshop is part of the ACS Leadership Development System and helps younger chemists become skilled leaders within the Society and their chosen profession.
Participants explore the behaviors and characteristics of effective leaders, discuss leadership opportunities within and outside the workplace, and develop personal plans to improve their leadership skills. They also work alongside ACS local, regional, and national leaders strengthening their leadership, management, and communication skills. The award supports professional development and networking through workshop participation.
