    Description

Youth Grantmakers in Action (YGA) is a youth-led initiative of the Winston-Salem Foundation that empowers teens ages 15–18 in Forsyth County, North Carolina, to take an active role in philanthropy. Selected YGA members collaborate to design a grantmaking program, seek out and evaluate proposals from youth-led groups, and award funding to projects that address community challenges and benefit local youth. The program offers leadership experience, skill-building, and opportunities to represent youth voices in community decision-making. Membership involves a commitment to monthly meetings (August–April) and independent work, fostering authentic partnerships and meaningful, youth-driven change in Forsyth County.
