Description
The Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) is a federally funded initiative administered by the Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) to address homelessness among youth and young adults in Idaho. The program is currently in the planning and system design phase, where IHFA is working with community stakeholders to develop a Coordinated Community Plan (CCP) that assesses the needs and landscape of youth homelessness statewide. Only after the CCP is completed and approved will sub-grant opportunities become available for youth-serving organizations to implement projects such as emergency shelters, transitional housing, rapid re-housing, and permanent supportive housing. The YHDP aims to create a comprehensive, coordinated crisis response system, leveraging data systems like the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and providing training and resources for effective administration.
