Description
The South Dakota Department of Health’s Tobacco Control Program offers mini-funding to schools and organizations that work with youth. Projects bring tobacco control education into a school, organization, or community through curriculum implementation, educational activities, cultural education opportunities, or a combination of these approaches.
The program supports work such as lessons using Tobacco Control Program-supported curricula, activities from its Youth Tobacco Prevention Toolkit, and education about traditional rather than commercial tobacco. Its aim is to help young people and their peers learn about tobacco prevention in the places where they participate.
