    Description

This grant, part of the Rapides Foundation's Social Environment Initiative, funds organizations to implement the My Civic Life program using the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) model. The goal is to foster youth leadership, promote community engagement, and encourage lifelong volunteerism among middle and high school students in Central Louisiana. Grantees coordinate summer service clubs, facilitate at least six youth-led service projects, and help participants build key 21st-century skills. The program also supports youth in achieving the Louisiana Department of Education Community Service Diploma Endorsement. Grant activities are structured and must be completed within the summer term.
