Description
The Sloan Foundation’s YouTube & TikTok program advances public understanding and engagement with science by supporting innovative creators on major long- and short-form video platforms. It supports fiction and nonfiction content about science, technology, and economics, using social media’s audience reach and engagement to connect with people who may not engage with traditional media.
The program seeks to celebrate exceptional creators, help up-and-coming voices build their platforms, and diversify the space through support for more women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ creators. Its priorities include innovative science storytelling, improved quality and accuracy, and combating misinformation and disinformation. It also aims to reach new and younger audiences and encourage engagement with other Sloan-supported projects.
