The Yampa Valley Community Foundation’s General & Capacity Needs Funding Program supports nonprofit organizations serving Routt and/or Moffat County. Part of its broader Nonprofit Needs Funding Program, it addresses unexpected needs that arise during the year but do not qualify as critical or urgent. Eligible expenses could improve, retain, or expand services without being necessary to prevent a detrimental community outcome.
Examples include expanding services through new staff or equipment, replacing or upgrading outdated equipment, and taking advantage of unexpected engagement, training, or outreach opportunities. After staff vetting, YVCF may share requests with donors whose philanthropic interests align with the need. The program connects nonprofit needs with potential donors rather than distributing awards from a dedicated funding source.
