Description
The Zakarian Awards, co-funded by Fight for Sight and The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, are designed to foster research skills and experience among UK ophthalmology professionals. The awards specifically target those with limited or no prior research experience, including trainees not in formal research posts, consultants or SAS ophthalmologists without dedicated research time, and Academic Clinical Fellows preparing for doctoral research. Funding supports a wide range of research activities, including costs for consumables, equipment, open access dissemination, and salary support for time out from clinical duties. The aim is to empower more ophthalmologists to initiate impactful research and build capacity in vision science.
