Description
The Washington State Department of Transportation’s Office of Innovative Partnerships runs this competitive program to expand charging and refueling infrastructure for travelers. The program is supported by Washington’s Climate Commitment Act, which directs cap-and-invest funding toward reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health.
The 2025–2027 solicitation focused on new or upgraded direct-current fast-charging stations for light-duty vehicles along Washington state routes; hydrogen refueling was handled through a separate solicitation. WSDOT aims to fill gaps in the corridor charging network, with a goal of stations at intervals of no more than 50 miles. Past grants have funded new stations and upgrades across Washington communities.
