Description
The Batten Disease Global Research Initiative Grant Program is a collaborative effort led by leading international patient advocacy organizations, coordinated by the Batten Disease Support & Research Association. The program funds high-priority research projects worldwide that address critical scientific questions in Batten disease (Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses, or NCLs). It aims to accelerate the development of therapies, improve diagnostic methods, enhance standards of care, and ultimately improve the quality of life for those affected by Batten disease. Priority research areas include gene-targeted therapies, biomarkers, disease progression, cognitive and behavioral impacts, early diagnosis, and innovative clinical trial designs. Grants are awarded through a two-stage process: an initial Expression of Interest (EOI) followed by a full proposal from selected applicants.
