    Description

Cultivating New Voices among Scholars of Color (CNV), administered by the NCTE Research Foundation, is primarily a mentoring program for doctoral candidates and early career postsecondary faculty of color. The two-year experience combines research support, one-on-one and group mentoring, relationship building, and networking. Fellows draw on their cultural and linguistic knowledge as they design, conduct, and share research relevant to English language arts and literacy education.

The first year emphasizes building relationships within the cohort and refining proposed or ongoing research. The second year moves that research toward completion or publication. Through institutes, convention presentations, and sustained work with established researchers, fellows build scholarly networks and strengthen their identities as researchers.
