Description
The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) sponsors one participant each year in the American Library Association’s Emerging Leaders program, with support from Friends of YALSA. The program brings newer library staff from across the country together to participate in problem-solving work groups, build connections with peers, and gain an inside look at ALA’s structure.
The program’s focus is professional leadership: participants have opportunities to serve the library profession in a leadership capacity and develop pathways toward leadership within ALA and the wider profession. YALSA’s sponsorship is part of its funding opportunities for members who work with or on behalf of teens.
