Description
The Germany/Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme is a bilateral initiative between the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to foster research collaboration between Hong Kong and Germany. Established in 1996, the scheme provides travel grants for collaborative projects led by Principal Investigators (PIs) from both regions, supporting one- or two-year projects. The program emphasizes the development of young research talent, particularly through the involvement of research postgraduate (RPg) students in research visits to partner institutions. Funding is intended to cover air passage, accommodation, and subsistence for research exchanges but does not support equipment or other project costs.
