The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute (HBI) Research Awards provide funding for original research and creative projects that significantly contribute to Jewish women’s and gender studies. These awards are open to scholars and artists at various career stages and support work that applies gender analysis to Jewish studies, brings Jewish perspectives into broader gender discourse, or fosters collaborations among women of different faiths. Special categories include research on gender and antisemitism, the Holocaust, Jewish-Black relations, feminism, disability, LGBTQ studies, women’s rights, and contemporary Israel. Awards are made through a competitive, peer-reviewed process emphasizing scholarly excellence and originality.
