Description
The Ohio Arts Council’s Individual Excellence Awards recognize outstanding achievement in an artist’s past body of work rather than fund a proposed project. The program spans choreography, music composition, interdisciplinary and performance art, media arts, crafts, design, photography, visual arts, and literature, including criticism.
Awards affirm creativity, technical skill, and sustained quality. Artists may use the funds to experiment, develop skills, and advance their careers through expenses supporting their artmaking, such as studio rent, supplies, equipment, or childcare. Applications are judged on the submitted work and the context the artist provides for it.
