This opportunity supports collaborative research projects involving self-financing degree-awarding institutions and/or University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded universities in Hong Kong. The scheme also encourages cross-disciplinary group research activities within an institution. The primary goal is to boost the research output, quality, breadth, and impact of self-financing institutions through meaningful collaboration across institutions and disciplines. Projects should demonstrate strong academic merit, potential for long-term development, effective synergy among participants, solid project management, and significant research impact beyond academia, including benefits to the economy, society, culture, public policy, health, environment, or quality of life.
