Description
The Minnesota Job Skills Partnership (MJSP) Board, through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), offers Pre-Development grants to cover planning costs for a specific, large-scale future Partnership project. Planning must deepen the applicant’s understanding of employment needs, skills training, and education in preparation for a Partnership grant proposal. The proposed project must address high-wage, high-growth, and high-skill occupations, businesses, and industries, and demonstrate significant new capacity for the training institution.
The program connects institutional planning with Minnesota private-employer needs. Selection considers financial commitments from other parties, assistance to economically disadvantaged people or those affected by economic dislocation, rural businesses, and new technology or emerging industries. Collaborations among multiple training institutions or businesses are welcome.
