Summary: Seed funding for food allergy prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment, with the ultimate goal of eradicating peanut allergy.
The National Peanut Board’s Food Allergy Research Grants support work in prevention, diagnosis, management and treatment, with the ultimate goal of eradicating peanut allergy. The program provides seed funding to help promising projects attract additional investment and create broader benefits for patients and families. The Board represents U.S. peanut farmers and their families and is entirely farmer-funded.
Supported work spans clinical and biological research, education, training, awareness, access to epinephrine and tools for coping with food allergy. Recent projects address early peanut introduction, microbial exposures in infancy, peanut oral immunotherapy and biomarkers. The program also supports efforts to build a food allergy learning health network, connecting patient interactions with research and bringing evidence into routine care.
