Description
The Real-World Evidence Innovation Challenge is a national prize competition led by NIH Challenges through the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). The challenge aims to establish validated benchmarks for analytic methods that operate on real-world clinical data, emphasizing the reproducibility, transportability, and stability of analytic approaches across diverse health systems. Utilizing the National Clinical Cohort Collaborative (N3C) secure enclave, the challenge will enable structured, multi-site validation of predictive models, causal inference methods, and other analytic workflows. The competition is structured in two phases: Phase 1 focuses on methodological rigor and readiness, while Phase 2 involves large-scale validation and benchmarking. The ultimate goal is to shift the paradigm from single-site model development to robust, multi-system validation, supporting trustworthy real-world evidence for clinical, research, and regulatory use.
