Description
The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) Small Grant Scheme facilitates research across all areas of applicable mathematics. It particularly welcomes support for workshops, small conferences and symposia, travel for overseas visitors, collaborative research programmes, education and training for students and young mathematicians and scientists, and joint research between mathematicians and industry.
The scheme aims to make a significant contribution to the activities it funds, including activities without access to other funding sources. Projects promoting impact, knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary links with other sciences, or engagement with the wider community are particularly welcomed. Applications are assessed by the IMA Research Group for scientific quality, training and wider benefits, the usefulness of the grant, and contribution to the Institute’s vision for mathematics in the UK.
