The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) Small Grant Scheme funds a wide range of research activities in applicable mathematics. The scheme is designed for flexibility, with a simple application process and rapid turnaround. It supports partial funding for workshops, conferences, symposia, collaborative research, travel for overseas visitors, education and training of students and young mathematicians, research-industry partnerships, and initiatives not funded elsewhere. Emphasis is placed on the potential impact of the activity, alignment with the IMA’s vision, interdisciplinary work, knowledge transfer, and community engagement. Special attention is given to gender balance in conference organization.
