Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Sylvia Lawry Physician Fellowships prepare physicians to conduct clinical trials in multiple sclerosis (MS). Named in honor of the Society’s founder, the program responds to the growing number of new MS therapies and the need for physicians equipped to test their safety and efficacy.
The fellowship provides up to three years of formal training under an established investigator. It focuses on the key elements of conducting MS clinical trials, combining formal instruction with experienced mentorship. Because MS is highly variable, monitoring the disease and evaluating therapies require specialized expertise. The program’s emphasis is developing that expertise in physicians pursuing training in medical specialties related to MS.
