Community Foundation Alliance

The Community Foundation Alliance is a network of nine Community Foundation affiliates serving counties throughout southwestern Indiana. Incorporated in March 1991 after the Lilly Endowment's Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT) Initiative, the Alliance provides management, administrative, and development expertise to local community foundations. The organization empowers each affiliate to promote philanthropy, build endowment, and improve wellbeing in local communities. The Alliance is guided by a board of directors composed of community leaders representing each county. Today, they manage more than 1,200 named funds established by individuals, families, businesses, civic groups, and agencies, with charitable assets over $148 million. They collectively make grants of more than $6.6 million each year to benefit local communities. The Alliance has achieved National Standards accreditation, representing operational effectiveness and excellence in community philanthropy. Each county affiliate is guided by local volunteers focused on impactful grantmaking, asset development, and community leadership.
