The department is organized into multiple divisions such as Economic Development, Employment Security, Labor and Economic Analysis, Rural Development, Science, Technology & Innovation, and Workforce Solutions. It operates across eight distinct North Carolina Prosperity Zones to provide targeted regional economic support and development strategies.
