About UK Research and Innovation
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is the United Kingdom national body for funding and coordinating research and innovation. It brings together seven disciplinary research councils, the innovation agency Innovate UK, and Research England under a single organization that invests across the full breadth of knowledge.
UKRI funds research and innovation spanning the arts and humanities, social sciences, biological and medical sciences, physical sciences and engineering, and the environment, as well as business-led innovation. Its councils support discovery research, strategic priorities, training, and the infrastructure and partnerships that underpin a healthy research system.
Funding flows to universities, research institutions, businesses, and individual researchers through grants, fellowships, studentships, and innovation programs, awarded through competitive peer review with eligibility defined per scheme. Researchers and organizations can find current UKRI opportunities and deadlines on Atom.
