The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) is the contracting and grants organization that manages funding for the Army medical research mission. It provides the acquisition support behind a large portfolio of biomedical research aimed at protecting and improving the health of service members and, often, the wider public.

USAMRAA administers funding for programs including the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, which support research across a broad set of diseases and conditions, from cancers and neurological disorders to combat injury and military-relevant health concerns. This work spans basic discovery, translational research, and clinical studies.

Funding is awarded to universities, nonprofit research institutions, companies, and other organizations through broad agency announcements, program announcements, and other mechanisms, with eligibility and award terms defined in each solicitation.
