About Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) is the state agency responsible for strengthening communities and growing the economy across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It works with local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to support development and opportunity statewide.

DCED administers a broad portfolio of grant, loan, and tax-credit programs covering community and downtown revitalization, infrastructure, housing, workforce and business development, and support for entrepreneurs and industry. These programs help communities build capacity and help businesses start, grow, and create jobs.

Funding generally flows to municipalities, economic development organizations, nonprofits, and businesses through competitive and program-specific mechanisms, with eligibility defined per program. Communities and organizations can track current DCED opportunities and deadlines on Atom.
