About Fulbright Scholar Program
The Fulbright Scholar Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, funded through the Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Established in 1946, it aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and other countries through the exchange of scholars, educators, and professionals.
The program supports U.S. academics, administrators, and professionals who travel abroad to lecture, conduct research, or both, and it brings scholars from other countries to the United States. Awards span virtually every academic discipline and a wide range of host countries, with opportunities tailored to different fields, career stages, and types of activity.
Fulbright awards are administered in partnership with organizations such as the Institute of International Education and are selected through a competitive, peer-reviewed process. Scholars and professionals can find current Fulbright opportunities, country-specific awards, and deadlines on Atom.
