Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training
The Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training (DLT) administers the state's workforce development, employment, and worker-protection programs. It runs unemployment insurance, temporary disability and caregiver insurance, workforce services and job-training programs, apprenticeship, and labor market information, and enforces the state's labor standards. DLT's competitive grant and training funding is administered largely through its Governor's Workforce Board (GWB), which offers a portfolio of programs for employers, jobseekers, and youth. These include Real Jobs Rhode Island industry partnership grants, Incumbent Worker Training Grants, Career Exploration Expansion Grants, Nursing Facility Training Grants, Workplace Accessibility Grants, Work Immersion, apprenticeship initiatives and incentives, PrepareRI, Real Skills for Youth, and Youth WIOA programs.
