Research interests

Your research interests tell Atom what you work on. They are the single biggest factor in how well your grant recommendations match your work.

Setting your interests

Describe your work in whatever form is easiest:

  • Keywords for the topics and methods you focus on.
  • A sentence or paragraph describing your research.
  • A full abstract pasted from a recent paper.

You can also let Atom build your interests automatically from your publication record.

The research interests editor in Atom
Describe your work in keywords, a sentence, or a full abstract.

How they power matching

Atom uses semantic search to compare your interests to the full text of every opportunity, so you match on meaning, not just keywords. The more detail you give, the better the fit.

Revisit your interests as your work evolves. Updating them refreshes your For You dashboard with grants that reflect what you are working on now.
